Wall Street Journal

As a freelance designer and project manager, I worked with teams across multiple publications and facets of the business, including The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, Financial News, Marketwatch, Moneyish, newswires and data platforms.

WSJ DJX

Blueprint

Blueprint is a bespoke digital style guide for creating consistent, quality and on-brand content with templates, assets, instructions, interactive elements, and code snippets. Using the recently completed WSJ framework as a reference, I developed Blueprints for six additional brands.

The digital styleguides were built on a simple CMS so the individual publications could easily manage content, while allowing the Global Design team to share and update components when necessary.

Moneyish

Moneyish was a newly-launched digital venture for a demographic substantially younger than WSJ’s core audience. I designed the brand’s digital interactions, created a visual language guide, and led workshops with content creators covering brand identity, media curation and application.

“There are only a handful of designers that can break apart gnarly system-level challenges into elegant and effective human-forward experiences. Krystyn is one of them. She is a gifted visual designer, a more-than-competent facilitator, and a caring and thoughtful manager.”
